Or, they could just be contractors that work for PSEG.
I highly doubt they showed up and offered to "check your bathroom" without further explanation, especially in Clifton. Are you sure they were not from Comfort Partners or some other energy program?
I used to work in a low-income program sponsored by PSEG. We had badges but were not PSEG badges.
Not everyone who shows up to your home representing a PSEG program will be a PSEG employee but they all will have photo ID.
Be smart, and ask them who they work for and what program they represent.

Reply to comment by LingeringSentiments in Caldor at Mill Creek Mall, Secaucus, NJ, 1986 by AxlCobainVedder
I remember being so mad that Edgewater was the only Caldor that became a Target . . . all of the other ones in North Jersey became Kohls . . . I wanted a Target bc I saw some Mossimo sweater in a magazine and those were the days before internet shopping so it was brick-and-mortar or bust.

Doesn't matter that the rep is out of proportion. It's no exageration that introducing yourself as 'genuine' New Jersey often gets you negged in response. "Aren't you glad you're not there now?" Ad nauseum. The only solution I see is changing the state name to something blandly anonymous like North Delaware.

I'm surprised this store opened with that serifed signage. I don't think that sign was still there by 1990. My only regret in life regarding this mall is that I never ate any of those weird popcorns from The Kernel and the Bean next door.

It's more localized. You'd have to find the communities who post about that. Like montclair has a newsletter somewhere. The jobs list is confidential to our union members but it's just a list of jobs and the main location/stage

Actually we’ve pretty consistently gotten outbid by flippers and investors who are renting out. Not companies but just people with deep pockets. We need a rule where everyone who wants gets a plate before you can get seconds.

There's a guy by the Union City Post Office who makes a great chili with his boiled dogs.
He's more popular for his pinchos (pork skewer).

Correct answer and I don’t get why people arguing with you. You gotta be out of your mind or have the Stockholm syndrome of the RU screw that as a whole “state schools in NJ are cheap”.
You’re right in bringing up merits of SUNY system, there’s a lot of conventionally good schools there that don’t exactly break the bank as bad.
Idk I get state pride and all that but yeah there’s more out there.
