Watching the same documentary with my Chinese Fiance and when we learned what type of fungus is in this documentary she immediately points out that she eats that fungus when it grows out of catapillars.

I knew about the egg reason for not eating it. Thank you for the flour info.

I mean, they're supposed to. What else would they smell like, vacuum energy? Magnetic fields?

Lax gun safety like she's alleged to have demonstrated while working on The Old Way?
>While working as an armorer on “The Old Way,” a Nicolas Cage western shot in Montana, Gutierrez Reed sent Kenney a text message on Aug. 15 in which she asked the weapons provider if she could “shoot hot rounds out of the trap door,” the report stated. > >“Wtf is a hot round?” Kenney asked in response, to which Gutierrez Reed replied, “Like a pretty big load of actual ammunition,” according to the report. > >The report states that Kenney “tells her never to shoot live ammo out of tv/movie guns, and to only use blanks” and follows up by saying, “It’s a serious mistake, always ends in tears.” > >“Good to know, I’m still gonna shoot mine tho,” Gutierrez Reed responded, according to the report.
That's just the most eyebrow-raising behavior. She was also apparently just a general disaster as an armorer.
It was fucking stupid to hire a part-time armorer for a Western, but there's no reason to believe Gutierrez-Reed was a paragon of gun safety. Armorer on two sets with gun safety issues is pretty damning.
Whether the involuntary manslaughter charges are appropriate or not is a matter for the court to decide. Either way, her career in Hollywood should probably be over.

Why is there a live round on the movie set? Who brought it there? Who put it in the gun?

This is the same war crime that Putin has been charged with by the International Criminal Court.

Read and used that book as a piece of evidence when I taught toxic positivity and its negative impacts. Thanks for pushing education on me. Still support your original comment as completely valid.

Perjury during the first adopting hearing seems likely.

He also co-wrote the script.
Again, we'll see what people are willing to say in court.

Ugh, I can't help it, I gotta get a bit technical *deep breath*
There are multiple factors that play a role, amount of gunpowder behind a round is one of them.
Others include barrel length, how fast or slow the powder burns, size of the round (mass, caliber, etc.), hardness of the round/penetrator, etc.
Soooo... our POS shooter was using a Keltec Sub2k which has a 16" barrel. Assuming they were using factory loaded 115 gr. 9mm ammo (the most commonly used 9mm ammo in the US), the muzzle velocity would have been around 1,295 fps. However, they're only gaining slightly less than 200 fps over shooting the same round from a full size handgun like the Glock 17 with a ~4.5" barrel has a muzzle velocity around 1,097 fps. Fast sure, but still slow compared to actual rifle rounds which often have muzzle velocities exceeding 2,000 fps, some exceeding 3,000 fps, and at least one exceeding 4,000 fps.
Without diving further down this rabbit hole, the short of it is that body armor rated to stop pistol calibers will still stop this round from a 16" barrel.

Absolutely. And to be clear, it is a little anecdotal on my end -- I live in SW Missouri and that kind of timeline for storm recovery is just something that you grow a little used to. I remember there was a huge community response to Joplin really early in the beginning stages that I think also helped out by freeing up resources, along with quite a few non-profits building houses as well.

Well, when
-
a religious wacko decides it is their Christian duty to take a Muslim child as their own
-
lies about the child being the orphan of a killed Taliban fighter
-
falsifies paperwork stating the government of Afghanistan has agreed to the adoption, and
-
steals the child from the country during the confusion of the Taliban retaking control of the country
it tends to look bad to the judge reviewing the case.
