Oh, there's an evil force alright. It's called energy, good or bad, it exists, and if it's concentrated in one group of people or an area, it becomes its own thing.

Energy is a force, period. Whether good or bad, when it's concentrated in one area or within a group, it can manifest as something we may perceive as evil. Or conversely, good.
