I remember the last time billionaire developers tried to build a Ferris Wheel in NYC surrounded by commercial and entertainment development.

I also remember this similar venture, also featuring an artistic central attraction surrounded by entertainment and commercial development

But by all means let try this again.

That was my first link. RIP New York Wheel. I'm positive that thing would have detached and rolled into the Bay. I remember their big plan to project video and lights onto the wheel, so at minimum it would have been a massive spinning billboard for penis pills and spiked seltzer if it was made.

I’m biased as this would preserve my views better than yet another monolith, but I like it. The neighborhood could use some open space. And we certainly have no use for millions of sq ft of office space right now.
