Delivery charges will go up 18.6% over 3 years and we'll pay even more in 2023 and 2024 because the rate increase is back dated to the beginning of the year and won't start until mid-year. Supply charges, which went up with gas supply constraints last year, are market rate and ConEd doesn't profit on them. We'll be charged more for ConEd to deliver the electricity than it costs to generate the electricity.
This has to be approved by the state public service commission. Reach out to your state representatives and tell them this is not acceptable.
There is also a public hearing on March 29 and 30th. You need to pre-register today to speak live, but you can also leave a comment online, by phone, or by mail.
