Check out all of our museums and parks. If you'd like to get out of Manhattan and see a bit more of the non-touristy side of NYC, head out to Queens. Check out Flushing, and Flushing Meadows Park. The NY Hall Of Science, Queens Art Museum has a great diorama of all of NYC that you can walk over. The Queens Zoo and Petting Zoo is right there as well, but I can't say whether they're open this time of year.
Check out Jackson Heights and get some street food, do some day drinking and converse with locals. Head over to Middle Village and check out St. Johns Cemetery if you're into that kind of stuff, there's a lot of famous people buried there. Head to Forest Hills and check out the serenity of Forest Hills Gardens. Go hang out on Sutphin Blvd at 3AM and get yourself robbed. It's all a good time.
You can see the Ghostbusters Firehouse on Mott street in tribeca, Louis Vuitton has a trunk exhibit over on Madison avenue, You could take the NYC ferry and ride around the Hudson
North Moore st*
met museum and Central Park stroll.
Fort Tryon Park is nice. Take the A to 190th St.
Rent a road bike and tour the city.
Free boat ride (SI ferry).
Ohh I wasn't aware of the Fort. Will definitely check it out! I walked around the city and took the ferry though. Thanks!
You can always go for some Chinese food!
Yes! Making a list of places to try now. Heard house of joy was good. Any other suggestion ?
Walk the length of Manhattan. If you take Broadway north (and avoid Times Square) it’s a nice walk. Plan for 4h if walking at brisk pace. This is perfect weather for it.
Thanks! I did this. It was something I needed I think!
If you happen to be alone on thanksgiving, restaurants Frank, Supper, Lil Frankie’s in East Village all do a free thanksgiving dinner if you’re alone (no questions asked)
Thanks for the suggestion! Hopefully won't be spending it alone tomorrow fingers crossed
Walk thru Chinatown and stop at a bakery at a minimum. Natural history museum, walk across Central Park, metropolitan museum of art. Rent a bike and ride around. Eat at Katz deli. You can buy weed in stores now.
See if Wall Street Baths will be open . Or any russian Banyas .
That's a great idea! Thanks!

You mean, not one of your friends invited you to Thanksgiving dinner? You need to find new friends. I have two single guys who come over every Thanksgiving and Christmas day for dinner. Been doing it for the last twenty years. It's a tradition now. I don't think they can get out of it now even if they wanted to lol.
Ha no! We're spending Thanksgiving together! They just had work for 2 days before Thanksgiving. I had taken off so was free to roam around!

For food since you have some time you can explore some of the places deeper in the outer boros.
New world mall in queens to have a bunch of good Chinese options
Get katchipuri in Brighton beach (a bread bowl filled with cheese) find a Georgian restaurant down there, Georgia house is good. While down there you could burn off the carbs and take a long walk to Coney Island for totonnos for a classic coal oven pie.
Nenes tacqueria for quesabirria. They just opened a second location on the border of park slope and sunset park or go to the original one in bushwick. I understand the lines at the one in bushwick are long though. Fucking amazing
