If he gets arrested, which I think its highly likely, does that mean automatic remove from congress? Or would the house still have to do their procedure to remove him?
With all the lying he has done. I would be shocked if those campaign funds did not involve some criminal element.

Congress reps have been indicted for fraud before. I believe they usually step down.

No, it’s not automatic. Unless he resigns, they’d have to vote to kick him out. Worse, if by some miracle they arrest and convict him - but Republicans don’t kick him out and he doesn’t resign, he could probably argue to a judge that he needs to be released each day to do his job in congress and stay in jail at night or when congress is otherwise out of session.

Sentences to get deferred for various reasons. Judges have that discretion.
