Our S&P 500 account is down 93%. Newbie looking for guidance.

Please be graceful as we are new to investing. We were told to dollar cost average in an ETF and so we put a few thousand a year for the past few years into Vanguard S&P 500 (VOO) and never really worried about short term gains/losses but when we logged in today it's showing a 93% overall losses? That seems off from other projections. We use M1 and most of the drop comes from Dec 19th/20th 2022.

It won't let me post a picture, but it shows that we had $8,178 and now we're down to $884.

Is this what others are experiencing also?
