Basically, i got a check from my old college. It looks legit to me at least. As a 25 year old who handles checks regularly for my job, like… i mean i would hope that I can tell what is and isn’t a real check by now.
They sent no explanation of where the money came from, just the word ‘overpayment’ on the paystub. I just so happened to open the mail in front of my mon, got kinda excited, but she quickly squashed that by saying I needed to wait to cash it until i call them, to find out it’s legit, and where the money came from…. Why? Her explanation only confused me.
Is there a reason at all why i shouldn’t trust this? Is there any reason for me to not cash this now?
UPDATE: General consensus seems to be that I should call them to find out whats up. Guess I’ll be doing that first thing monday morning!
