I recently sold a business and will have $2M in liquidity. A friend of mine is a Wealth Manager and says he can generate 5% conservatively with minimal risk (t-bond, divi stocks, muni-bonds, etc.). This would generate ~$100k pre-tax per year and give me financial freedom (I own my home outright).
Can people here chime in on if his 5% figure is realistic or if there are better ways to generate a stable income at a similar or higher rate?
