"Payment Thank You" sent to my WF credit acct

I have received 3 separate payments to my WF credit account. One in September, and now two more on separate days this month. totaling ~$2k. I don't really use my Credit account ever, and have it set to autopay the full balance. I have checked all of my other accounts to verify it did not come from there.

I'm not complaining about free money but what's going on here? Do I have an anonymous benefactor? Does this require any action on my end?

Call WF and ask. Don't touch the money. Eventually the system will get sorted out and they'll take the money back.

An anonymous benefactor seems unlikely. What seems more likely is that someone may have mistyped their account number when setting up bill payment. They're probably wondering where their payments have been going. Depending on exactly whose error it was and how long it is before somebody tries to fix it, the payments may end up getting reversed.

You should keep your money set aside for your expenses. The bill will come due when the other party figures out they have been paying your card off. Not sure how this happened honestly, a bit strange. You should double check someone else doesn't have access to your account because I am sure this can easily turn against you.

What does it say on the payment line? Does it mention where the money is coming from? Mine says that it is coming from my bank account and shows the last 4 of my account number.
