I'll be a part of the group of tech workers being laid off. I was told by management early so I can start looking for other jobs.
I had already been applying before that, as I had somewhat seen it coming, but not this early. When it comes to applying, I carch the interest of recruiters but when it comes to speaking with hiring managers, it seems I cannot go past that.
I will keep persevering because I don't know what else to do. Other than applying for jobs, what else could I be doing? I have an emergency fund and I am even getting married early next year.
What other considerations should I have in mind or things I should do after getting laid off?
A little context: I work remotely in the US and I'm a US citizen. I am also working as a contractor for a temp agency. I file a W-2 as opposed to 1099.
EDIT: added the contractor part
