An inside source informed me that I will be laid off next week along with a few others. I have about a 5 day head start. What do you all recommend that I do to:
A.) prepare for that conversation with HR. Are there ways I can negotiate? Questions I should ask? or statements I should make? I expect some form of severance, but I'm unsure of those details.
B.) Get my house in order prior to that cutoff date? I've been doing things like moving work docs over to my personal files, purchasing prescriptions that I need, etc.

Edit: I am just moving over my own personal documents - ex. best practice documents for me, nothing that the company would see as proprietary, but thank you for thinking of that!
