I have Tix to Snarky Puppy in April, at the Union Transfer. I’m looking for a restaurant suggestion that’s close by/walking distance.
Any recommendations?

La Chinesca (mexican) is right next to it. And prohibition taproom is around the corner.

Spaghetti Warehouse was great
El purepacha, easy
Liquid Art (Roy Pitz) for large portions and pre-game
Silk City if you want more elevated diner food

La Chinesca has a great vibe
This, but make a reservation or be ready to wait.
Idk what changed over the last year, but they have been full house with 1+ hour wait the last few times I’ve been there.
It’s great food and drinks, but I remember it being not as popular lol.
Lmao. Always got to upvote a Spaghetti warehouse reference. The olden days
I still call it the spaghetti warehouse
The institute gives a discount if you tell them you are going to a show. Silk City is good too.
Prohibition Tap room... A little pricey but great beer selection and good food.
“You kids think you’re cool, but I know that show is in the old Spaghetti Warehouse”
Stockyard sandwich co. Is a out a ten minute walk across broad. Food food and cider I'd your into that
Others have said it, but I’m nthing Prohibition. That’s my go-to before UT shows. The popcorn chicken is a perfect pre-show snack.
If you miss it, there's still four locations in Ohio; also in Syracuse.
Silk city
Possibly too long of a walk to Union Transfer from there though
Or the Lucky well which is right next door. Their BBQ is better than most in the city but definitely not the best in the city
Get the pretzel bites too!
Silk City, Prohibition Taproom, The Institute
Snarky Puppy is a fun time, enjoy the show
Crown Fried Chicken. Last time I was there after a show, two tweakers were trying to steal the ATM until one was carried out while screaming HULK!
so funny to think back on that place being an oversized pasta joint.
i wonder what exists now that might be used as a completely different venue in 10-15 years.

But terrible service.
It's like they aren't prepared ever for the surge of customers on show ngihts
Me 20 minutes ago - Who the hell are the Snarky Puppies. Me now - Googling ticket and vinyl prices.
When it was in a hole in a wall location a few blocks away, it was great. Glad they're moving up though.
Pretty decent walk from the venue, but might as well suggest yards if you venture down there as well
Anything in Chinatown
Welcome to a whole new world of music. Check out their song “Lingus” on YouTube. It’s a wild ride of pure musicianship.
I’ve heard that it does have a good vibe, but I’ve also heard bad things about the food/service/price
Snarky Puppy is fantastic, enjoy the show!

I love Prohibition…even moreso when it’s not packed.
Triple Bottom Brewing has really tasty beers and a small menu but it’s all solid stuff. They’ve got a little patio too for if the weather’s nice.
I always just grab tacos from the Honduran restaurant across the street. Wow they are good and cheap for drunken eats
Honestly, it was. All of the stuff on the wall was so old, it was like a museum. I remember so many things they had and all of the large paintings. That place was a treasure. I love Union Transfer too, so I'm okay with the change. Everytime I go I look around and think of the good times I had as a kid in the 90s.
Garbage.
Overpriced food, literal NYC prices, and portions are super small. Never again.
EDIT: La Chinesca, PT is great.
Prohibition Taproom, hands down.

La Chinesca and Juno are really nice in the spring/summer and they’re literally right next door and across the street. They’re drinks are great too
Yards brew pub is just a few blocks away.
in my experience there's a reason for this, and it's mostly due to the actual customers. The food at LC is at best 'meh', but even when they have a completely staffed business it's nearly impossible to meet guest demands. People want their shit, they want it now, and they don't seem to understand that there are other paying customers that also have orders. (This isn't me accusing you, this has been my general observation the handful of times I've been there).
I feel like pro tap is the quintessential pre/post UT show drink spot. Without fail I meet other people going to shows there
Seconded. Good beer, good portions, cheaper than some of the other nearby places, the bar has tons of seating, and it doesn't get too crowded. I was even able to get a seat during the Eagles game last weekend.
One of the better breweries in the city, for sure. And sadly flies under many people's radar.
And you also have Love City a block away (they also have some tasty bites via the "inside food truck").
The cider is excellent
Brandon makes some pretty great ciders over there.
Loved the vibe but boy did their name give me different expectations!
Food still quality too. Glad to see a place that deserves it grow!

It’s not even a real Crown Chicken, it’s Crown Chicken & Burger which is not the same chain!
It's 0.7 miles... 10 minutes if that.

Don't forget yards further down the road or Juno
That’s you are moving at a pace of close to 4 MPH…but in all seriousness there are breweries slighly closer to the proximity of the venue
El Rincon replaced El purepechas old hole in the wall place and the owner is so so sweet!

Silk City & Pro Tap are close!
Second this. Work in the Roy pitz building and rincon is solid quick lunch.
I've had some... interesting interactions in that place when coming home drunk
Silk City sucks, don’t go there. Choose any other recommendations others have provided
Instagram has blown up on it. I only learned of it recently and it was foodie IG.
They were big on ukraine too, hosting events, coming out with a donation brew that personally I loved (was light af) etc
Bad experience?
The food at Spaghetti Warehouse was bad but they gave you a lot.

There's a Honduran hole in the wall across the street from Union Transfer.
How has no one said Juno?
Ah that explains it. They legit used to be like a 10 seat corner spot. I'd go to bat they have the best Mexican in the city over anywhere in S Philly.

I went to some newer like Chinese Mexican fusion place right there the other month that was pretty good.
