The answer is it depends on the provider
CBC recently did a marketplace review, sending the same samples to multiple test companies, including a human DNA sample as a gotcha. Results are worth a read

That's... terrifying and hilarious at the same time. Two different companies actually gave results for the canine ancestry of a human DNA sample.
