Good ol' pelton and cranes. Those lights have a few patents on them. The manufacturer closed it's factory a few years ago.

I'm positive the industrial designer mocked that up in CAD and thought "ha, this lamp looks a little like a buffalo", and then just went for it. That screw hole placement is not accidental.

It's a midmark light. Pelton sorta kinda exists still as it was bought out by kavo. They don't sell anything with the name on it anymore but still service post 2013 equipment.
