Loud booms are usually blown transformers. Hopefully that's all this is.

Yup heard it near gilkeson rd. Then 10ish minutes later heard sirens but didn't see where they went.

Must not be much of a big deal. All of the local police / fire radios are not saying much. The only thing even remotely close is some reports of fireworks.

Didn’t hear this one but last night heard 3 or 4 around 1:30 am. Sounded like a cannon or something. More than a gunshot but not quite a firework.

I made the mistake of looking at a sparking transformer when it blew across the street. Took several minutes for my eyesight to return. Would certainly light up the night for a couple blocks

Dunno specifics but as someone who lives in Greene County, if a gas well blows off a pressurization cap you’ll hear it…miles away

I heard 4. Three of them were back to back with a pause between them. The fourth one came a little later and not as loud.

Someone casually said in my Ring app that meteor hit the atmosphere and I wonder if that was true.

Definitely loud enough to cover long distances. The fact that it was multiple noises lessens the likelihood it's a transformer, since multiple don't usually blow at once. So I don't know.

I'm going to double down on transformers and assume it was just Autobots landing and planning their attack on earth.

Blown transformers usually show up on PulsePoint and no one reported loss of electricity.

Some people were saying it was kids setting off M80's. One person said that they were told they were being thrown from a vehicle in Mt. Lebanon and Dormont but I am not sure how true that is. Others said they were being set off in a park.

Any word on what this was? Heard a boom and then lots of sirens...

Any updates here? I’m still very curious as to what those noises were. It was so weird.
