Hello! We are planning a visit to Pittsburg in May and are planning to stay at The Landing Hotel adjacent to the Rivers casino. On the map the Three Rivers Heritage Trail is shown and it appears that we could use this trail to walk to PNC Park from our hotel. Is this true? And if we can walk to and from, is this a safe area to walk after dark? Thanks in advance!

Yep, it's a well-traveled area. By the by, you dropped the h in Pittsburgh!

The Science Museum is in between the stadiums and your hotel. There is soooo much to do in that area, hope you enjoy your stay.

No worries, we're inordinately defensive about our h.

Yes. It's like a 5 min walk. It's safe. The hotel is right on the trail and so is PNC park Edit: 15 minutes. Not 5.

There's also a staircase up to the Fort Duquesne Bridge so you can cross the river to Point State Park if you want to explore downtown. The 6th Street Bridge has easy foot access to downtown too, but it's closed for the time being.

It absolutely is. There will be lots of people on the trail as well as several pleasure boats tied up along the wharf. But if you're uncomfortable at any point, you can just walk along the sidewalk on North Shore Drive. And if you're really tuckered out, there are also pedicabs that run between PNC and the casino.

I'd take my chances with the angry geese on the trail than the drunk partiers on North Shore Drive.

HONK!!
