Wondering if anyone can tell me if this is okay?

I live across the street from a polling place, would it be legal for me to place a campaign sign in my yard or window?

I know logically this is my property, but don't want law enforcement called over it.

Polling places have signs set up right outside the doors. On your own property? Across the street? 1000% okay.

Heck, you could sit in a lawn chair in your yard and holler at voters, and no one could really stop you

You can holler at voters, but only if they can't hear you inside the polling place. But definitely, a sign in your yard is OK.

Just whatever you do, do not give the impression that you've got anything that can be misconstrued as a weapon, because yes, that is an actual crime and no one's gonna get out a tape measure to defend you if you're sitting on your porch with a shotgun broken over your arm.

No one can promise that the police WON'T be called, but there's nothing for anyone to legitimately complain about. You're fine. It's your property.

And no one can promise you that the police, once called, will know and abide by the law. So call your local election official and ask them what the law is. This way, if you have to deal with KKKops, you know ahead of time what the rules are.

Electioneering (which I can’t imagine having a sign on your property would count as) can’t be conducted any closer than 10 feet from a polling place, which is measured from the voting area itself.

Perfect, I didn't realize there was a name for it. We have 2 sidewalks and a 2 lane road plus yards in between so it shouldn't be any problem
