This looks familiar. We've may have some similar questions to this in the past. You might find some good info here : [Parking ticket search](/r/pittsburgh/search?q=Parking ticket&restrict_sr=on). I don't always get it right though, cuz I'm just a simple bot.

The way it generally works is, there are signs that dictate when and for whom parking is legal. Follow those signs and you should avoid tickets. Hope this helps.

They have lasers on cars they drive around that scan plates and use the online database of registrations to determine if you are permitted to park in various spots. Go here to sign up, but you need relevant bills/proof to get permits for neighborhoods - http://www.pittsburghparking.com/

There isn't any secret code to when they patrol if that's what you're looking for.

Also, the Pittsburgh Parking mobile app is VERY useful - extremely easy to pay $0.33/15 minutes most places you need to pay for parking and not worry about a big ticket.

Most parking is free/unenforced on Sunday's, but you can still get ticketed/towed if you're parked illegally.

Otherwise they don't follow a set route. Obviously the metered spots are patrolled more frequently than the residential streets, but both are driven through.
