Follow up, what do I do with the money though if I’m not sending it back? Would it fall under a “gift”? Shall I leave it in my account and use it via Venmo. I’m sketched to even transfer it to my bank

If the money is really in your account, contact your bank and let them investigate.

It’s staying in my Venmo until the issue is sorted with Venmo.

OK, I think I was confusing Venmo with Zelle. But in any case, contact Venmo about possible fraud.
