This happened to me when i first got a venmo account. They sent me three payments for around $160 each then asked for a refund. I googled it and it sounded like a scam so I didn’t. Years later, that money is still in my venmo account! At this point i wouldnt be afraid to use it, i just dont use venmo. It was super weird though!

Thank you for sharing your story! Scammers will stop at nothing and people are very gullible when it comes to situations like this. They assume your guard is down by making a human error, compelling you to do the “right” thing and give them it back. Manipulation tactics.

I should have mentioned that when this happened i did contact support and asked them to reverse the transactions but they wouldn’t/couldn’t do that.

Also whenever i tell people about this I usually say i got reverse-scammed on venmo hahaha
