Seeing this in a few threads the last few days, including the thread that was supposed to say we were one of the most affordable cities but showed median home price was four times median household income.
Yes, we are more affordable. That is more of a commentary on how screwed our living costs are at large in the country. For the average person that makes near that median income, buying is becoming more and more of an impossibility.
Edit: I will also say too, I get pretty annoyed when I see people that make 3 times the median income for their household, and ESPECIALLY those that moved from somewhere like Boston but kept their income lecturing about how Pittsburgh isn’t bad. It’s out of touch, and honestly pretty damn condescending.
