We absolutely need to walk defensively, it’s true. It would just be nice if defensive walking wasn’t as necessary here. Not every city is like this.

I agree, except defensive walking is the default. For me at least. I don’t know how others walk or drive, but defensive transport is always the default. Anything else is just a plus.
