If you're ok with alcohol still being served, Riff Raff and New Harvest are both cool places where you can hang out and chat in the evening.

Coffee anywhere, hikes at Lincoln Woods (or better yet a combo of coffee at Borealis and a walk on the EBBP), rock climbing, axe throwing, WaterFire when it starts back up, space stuff on an open Ladd Observatory night, I've walked the Hope St farmer's market with a date then just sat at a park bench and chatted... We live in a dope city, the list is long.

These are just an unfiltered idea dump. It's hard to say "anything fitting the vibe of these bars, but that aren't bars"

There’s a place called Smash and Splash in Cranston or Warwick I think where you can go and destroy junk with baseball bats, golf clubs, etc. very fun

Day dates:

Botanical Gardens at Roger Wms Park; also there, the Natural History Museum & Planetarium and Zoo

Wed thru Sun: Park on East Street and then walk over the Pedestrian Bridge overlooking the port; walk to your right to the Community Boat House, then beginning there, walk the length of India Point Park reading all the historical plaques as you go. You'll end up at Brown Boathouse. Turn around there and head to Ives St and choose any of the little eateries there

Hike up Neutaconkanut Hill at the end of Plainfield St; it has loads of marked and mapped little trails. Awesome view at the top. Then go to one of the tiny Central American restaurants in the neighborhood -- the two right on Plainfield are both really good

Take a class at Providence Perfume (they moved to Pawtucket during the pandemic). They are the real thing as far as perfume goes: hidden treasure!

Evening dates:

Take a class together at Gather, the glassblowers on Atwells.

Take a class together at The Forge SteelYard

I lean on NA beer when I'm out. Every bar has a bunch of options now which is nice.

As a non-drinker, for an evening date I’d opt for dinner. Maybe dinner and a movie at the Avon or Columbus. If you’re trying to avoid places where alcohol is served, that can be tough but people have had lots of great ideas here. Not in the city, but Cinemaworld Lincoln is also a good spot for a movie/bowling/arcade

I like walks, with stops for coffee, pizza or tacos. I start at the Pedestrian Bridge. There are great walks in all directions. Full disclosure, I might stop for a beer, but most of the time it's coffee or grabbing a slice to eat outside.

The Hope Farmers market on Saturdays and Providence Flea are good all year round, but are even better outside (May to Oct, I think).

I love Aleppo Sweets, but go for the savory dishes and get a pot of the special teas. Possibly the best, or at least most unique restaurant that doesn't serve alcohol.

I also like BYOB places. Bring a bottle if you like or don't bring a botte. Noodles 101 on Ives is such a place.

I recently celebrated my birthday at Lamei Hot Pot. Take your time here. Soup is good for the soul. They do have drinks - and I enjoy a good drink - but was perfectly happy with tea. We went to Moniker Brewery after for one beer, which was perfect.

Everything in moderation, as they say...

I would often go to Tea in Sahara. Great vibe, dimly lit, you look slightly sophisticated and chicks dig tea

Lincoln Woods has really turned to shit. People just don’t care and litter everywhere. Makes me sick because it truly is a great place when it is clean and people respect it. I don’t know what it is with RI residents and trash in general. People just don’t give a second’s thought to throwing their trash on the ground. Really drives me nuts.

Not sure if its open yet, but a combat archery place is coming to Providence. Archery Games.

You might need more people to go - but I've been super excited for something like this.
