Me and my partner are leaving The terraces at Manchester in May but love Manchester and want to stay in this area before purchasing a home. These look decent & I’m going to tour tomorrow, but Reddit reviews are always helpful! :)

Don't do it.

I live here. The gated parking lot is a joke they are broken more often then not.
The windows are thin and the pool area is a giant echo chamber.
People frequently have large loud late night pool parties and management refuses to enforce the 10pm pool close time other than to tell residents to call the police.

This Sunday morning a group of drunk teenagers were throwing pool furniture around at 230am then got into the lobby and made a mess everywhere including smearing ice cream on the windows.

For NYE there were people firing automatic weapons in the parking lot.

And for all this they want to raise my rent to $1650 for a 700sqft 1br. I can't wait to leave next month.

Oh and how can I forget, in the warm months the Jamaican restaurant across the street hires a shitty DJ twice a week to do Kareoke outdoors on their patio.....which is street side and they point the speakers at The Jamestown. And half the building gets to listen to shitty Kareoke inside their apartment

I live next door to you in Link Apartments Manchester and am moving in with my boyfriend as of May 1, so if you're not thrilled with Jamestown, you could always take over my lease! $1264 for 700 square feet pool view on the 4th floor.

Wow that’s $250 cheaper than my not-so-trendy place in Henrico.

Yeah, I lucked out--took over the former tenant's 2-year lease back in late 2019 and locked in her rate, with only moderate rent increases. It's at least $200/month cheaper than what units are going for for a new lease! So I'm hoping someone will want to take advantage of that :)
