I searched the sub, but the last post about it was about four years ago, so I’m hoping someone has more recent info.

I’d like to go check out the kitchen gadget situation at Restaurant Depot, but I am not a restaurant (or working at one). I’ve seen some mention about guest passes, but can’t find anything on the website about it. I’m curious if anyone has any information or experience with being a regular person shopping there. (Or I guess, if anyone has a membership and doesn’t making a new friend and taking them on their next trip? The new friend would be me, in case that’s unclear.)

Thanks, y’all!

You can, just can’t buy fresh seafood or return anything. When you walk in there is a counter to your left and they will give you a guest pass that you give to the cashier at checkout. The other place to check out for kitchen gadgets is Gusti over by Topgolf

There's also the folks at At Your Bidding that do equipment auctions after restaurants closed. They usually have one or two a month, and I've gotten some good deals on soda fountain stuff, draft beer stuff, and other odds and ends to use at home. The next auction closes tomorrow...

I’ve been playing with making chocolate so I wanted to check and see if they had any of that type of stuff. Nothing fancy, but like molds or a bench scraper that’s larger than my little oxo one, that kind of thing. I know I could probably get it on Amazon but sometimes it’s fun to just see what’s around.

I can't recall specifically, but I don't think they have moulds like what you're seeking. I hope I'm wrong. They definitely have bench scrapers!

Happy making! Savory chef here jealous of chocolate-making. Never tried it, seemed too intensive for me.

They were only letting in regular folk during covid.. they've gone back to businesses only.. Can confirm no candy molds however

NP, the place is more like a commercial grocery store than kitchen wares.. they got kitchen wares mind you... but the place is more like a " Holy crap! I need 500 eggs and Sysco doesn't drop till monday!" Sort of place It's actually pretty neat in there if you're into that sort of thing.. half the building is a walk in cooler.
