I live in Glen Allen. I am aware there are various parking decks downtown (RVA native but only lived a 'burb life) but what are the top options for parking near the parade route starting at the SMV, ending at 7th and Marshall?

How about the illumination at the Kanawha Plaza? I usually go to the pedestrian bridge but I want to be front and center this time. Where do we park for this?

I see so many posts about cars being towed I thought its best to ask here.

News articles from last year will help. You can parallel park anywhere that's not closed.

Street closures for Grand Illumination tend to be small.

Christmas Parade has more closures but it's easy enough to see where you can hunt for parking in Newtowne West or the Fan.

I agree with u/yolo-dubstep and u/dalhectar because I was looking up the same information, because it is a smaller location, if you are alright with walking, you can park just outside of the area, just get there early, I know certain points closer 6am to 2pm and other side will be 9am to 2pm.I plan on taking GRTC 19 to Pulse and sitting towards the end instead of the beginning. This is if I am able to go, I want to try and go at least once, I have been here a long time and have not been able too.

Edit:Adding the website for the parade https://www.richmondparade.org/ has some information, if you need handicap parking you need to request in advance, not sure when the deadline was, contact information is at the bottom.
