I regard matter as derivative from consciousness. We cannot get behind consciousness. Everything that we talk about, everything that we regard as existing, postulates consciousness.” I don't assume that our AI creations will be conscious. They'll get extremely good at CONVINCING people they're truly conscious, however. We'll never REALLY know since consciousness is a 1st person experience. There's no known scientific experiment, even in principle, that can falsify or directly detect consciousness in an individual. The only conscious entity that you can be SURE is conscious is yourself.
