I think it'll be within the next 10 years that society will be forced to drastically alter the way we function (economically, socially) due to AGI.

AGI wil probably be here within 5 years seeing as the frequency of breakthroughs keeps accelerating and more and more energy and resources are being put towards this effort. Though regulation and fear will probably push back the societal influence a few years, it can't be held back forever.

My dream for AGI is that it'll solve all of our problems, because I beleive the solutions to the hardest issues are with reach, but that we simply can't connect the dots. The data has to already be there. So I feel like it could be used as an oracle of sorts.
