Recent layoff are because ICT companies bubbled when COVID-19 started. Remote work become thing and need for ICT services exploded. Also people started ordering lots of stuff from webshops. These layoffs are nothing special because layoffs are happening everywhere. Even in my country ICT firms are laying off people. Companies are also scared of current economic situation.

If that's the only cause, and again I'm not trying to say it isn't just entertaining the idea as a theory I guess , then one might still anticipate further layoffs at some point do to those sectors condensing as a result of implementing new AI programs - or is the general consensus that despite the ability to perform the tasks of multiple people already just with what's currently released to the public, that despite that companies will not capitalize to "do more with less" and/or condense any applicable jobs.
I'm really not even sure I'm articulating my thoughts well enough here for anyone lol but I am genuinely interested in people's beliefs/ideas about that specifically. Seems like it's a more realistic outcome as opposed to mass u employment due to AI that Imstead we suddenly see a lot of positions requesting ability to use AI and posting less positions as a whole as a result.
