Author (not me) makes the case against human missions to Mars. Because (1) we can't keep humans alive without reliable closed-loop life support, and (2) we risk permanently destroying the evidence of native life by contaminating Mars with Earth microbes. Also, (3) we can get a lot more science done with robots.
