By "astronomical event" I mean in terms of human achievement, not restricted to events that have been observed but also scientific advancement.
I think it was the detection of the first interstellar object in our solar system, 'Oumuamua. The theories of the mysterious origins of the object are fascinating to me. The launch of JWST and the LIGO experiment are also incredible to me.
