I routinely find 2x-4x and plus sized pants at Red Racks, esp the one on Battlefield and Kansas. Prices tend to be 50% off retail prices, and sales can make that another 50% sometimes. Quality is pretty good too.

It's not in Springfield, but the Goodwill store on South Street in Ozark has a good selection of quality used clothing in plus sizes for men and women.

Torrid has a selection in the mall. They are kind expensive but online have sales.

Goodwill actually has decent plus sized clothing at times (on Kansas Expressway). Also, there’s a consignment store downtown called Next to New that is sometimes hit or miss, but when they are a hit, they have some really nice stuff in plus sizes.

Burlington has a pretty decent selection of men’s big and tall and plus size for ladies.

As a plus sized lady, it depends on their style. Looking for a more playful or edgy style, go to torrid. Work clothes, lane Bryant, and some torrid clothes can work (but online is where the good stuff is with both places). For a more mature style, or more modest, then Catherine's is good. Heck, even walmart has some nice sundresses and tops, my favorite yellow sundress is from Walmart and I get comments whenever I go out in it. Cato has some nice plus too, but 28 is the largest they stock I think.
