Pay attention to the question. They asked what show was the best so they obviously are interested in seeing a show. right?

Some suggestions, you gotta go a bit past Branson, but Eureka Springs is what Branson pretends to be. It’s worth the extra 45 minute drive to experience. If you stay in Branson however, Taneycomo has some top notch fishing. The landing is solid and there are some neat shops there and downtown. Anything Bass Pro related is really well done and there are multiple wonderful gold courses. Buseik state park is also worth your time.

But they’re all crap. They’re not worth the time, hence my reply.

I really like buseik park as well. We’ve been wanting to go to Eureka Springs but I haven’t made it down there yet.

Shoji’s used to be pretty good. Extremely long tapping in at 3+ hours but still good. I was a percussionist in another life and I love the big Japanese drums descending from the ceiling. It was a mix of all kinds of music, not just bluegrass and country.

My wife and I LOVE it. We seriously go down 4-5 times a year.

If you like military worship and religious pandering then any you pick will be good.

as a local, and percussionist, the only show i’ve liked is buckets n boards. i echo what someone above said, eureka and the drive to there is beautiful.

I saw the Bald Knobbers when I was young and it terrified me. I still think about that old man swallowing his face.

I was Shoji's personal assistant about 15 years ago. I had never done theater up till then and it was an amazing experience. He is a great guy just to know.

When I worked for him the show was in it's prime. He only hired the best. Choreographers were flown in from Broadway to instruct the dancers. The lighting was done by the guy that lit the Barcelona Olympics. The performers that flew through the air was handled by the company that flew the original Peter Pan.

We blew 5000 dollars worth of pyrotechnics every show.

It was a hell of a ride!

I used to see their show way back in the day when they were at SDC, and it was pretty good. They’re probably one of the few Branson shows I would be interested in seeing.

I was blown away by The Petersens. Incredibly talented bluegrass family. Highly recommend… and I’m not a country music fan.

I’ve been to a few, mostly because I got to go for free/cheap.

Six was okay. It’s brothers who do everything a capella. Entertaining at first but eventually everything sounds similar.

The Chinese acrobats are impressive, if only because “flexible” and “coordinated” are not words that can be used to describe me, so I appreciate seeing people who are able to do cool stuff.

Dolly Parton’s Stampede is entertaining and a decent dinner too.

Yakov is hilarious and very quick-witted. If someone was coming from out of town I’d take them there, as long as it was during the right time of year. I can’t remember if he is in Branson Oct-Nov or Nov-Dec but it’s soonish.

I liked the acrobatic shows, been a while so I’m not sure if they’re still there. Cirque du soleil, and the Chinese acrobats.

The Petersens are really good. I don’t really like country either but their show was great.

I will go against the grain to say that I was underwhelmed by Dolly’s Stampede. The food was just okay in my opinion, and while the contests between the two sides were fun, a lot of the music was lipsynced.

I really really like the Haygoods — they are talented musicians and put on a high energy show that covers a lot of different genres of music. Highly recommend!

Watched Life of the King (Elvis) at the Americana Theater today. It was pretty good. I went with some Elvis fans even though I am not necessarily. I had a good time, but my ticket was also bought for me.

Just be careful, I've been dragged to absolutly nightmarish cringefests in Branson before. A ton of the shows are designed for a very specific type of elderly audience, and are huge tourist traps on top of that.

As for what I recommend, I remember the Acrobats of China being super good. Then again that was like a decade ago are they still around? It seems like they might've been renamed to the acrobats of Shanghai. It was incredibly impressive when I saw it last either way.

Any show at the Sight & Sound Theater. Jesus ends this week. Miracle of Christmas begins in November. Queen Esther begins in March.
