I doubt if the Chinese government has complete control of TikTok. Governments rarely if ever create anything so popular and successful. They will probably start 'controlling' it, effectively making it unpopular, then sell it to Facebook.

if a business achieves a certain level of success in China, it becomes mandatory to have CCP officials on the board of the company
