I Love Lucy. Iconic comedy that popularized the multi-camera approach with a live studio audience and the approach to syndication.
-
All in the Family. Incorporated discussion of current events, becoming a cultural touchstone during a time of substantial social change.
-
Seinfeld. Perfected the approach of separate disconnected plots, each individually funny, coming together for a larger punchline at the end.
-
The Simpsons. A massive stack of instantly recognizable plots and characters and gags that spans literal generations.
Just off the list: Cheers, Cosby Show (due to the... unpleasantness), Arrested Development.
As my personal Mount Rushmore: Parks and Rec, Simpsons, Police Squad, Scrubs.

What I love about this answer is that it properly accounts for all eras. Never heard of police squad and haven't watched scrubs but you clearly know sitcoms so I'll try and check them out.
I'll add some honorable mentions: Frasier, community, the office (overrated at this point, but still), the good place, taxi, and maybe fresh prince

Police Squad is the TV show that the Naked Gun movies are based off of. I think it's only 6 episodes, but it does some things that I haven't seen before or since.

this is an excellent post, although I'd put Cosby up there over the Simpsons. yes, I get it but evaluating the shows it's Cosby.

Yeah, Bill kind of ruined that one for everyone...

Have you seen Angie Tribeca? Very much a spiritual successor to Police Squad, not quite as dense or original with the jokes but it's closer to that style of comedy than pretty much anything else that's been on TV recently

Seinfeld also threw away the trope of having the characters learn some type of “lesson” in the episode or even show any type of sentimentality or seriousness. It constantly parodied those types of family sitcom tropes.
