I miss the yearly TV schedule, with most shows premiering around the same time in the fall and then breaking around the same time in the summer. It created this whole ecosystem that was fun for TV super fan. There would be up fronts (do they do those anymore?) where networks would preview new shows and new seasons of returning shows, and that was always exciting for me to read about. And, most importantly, it gave fans a predictable timetable of when they could expect their shows to come back, whereas now, not only do most shows take over one year to come back, but it varies between seasons.

Edit: I also miss TV having a distinct character. I don't mean character in the sense of a TV character, but in the sense of TV vs. movies. I understand that TV shows now have more intricate stories and better production values, but I feel that TV is slowly losing its identity in pursuit of this ever-increasing quality. Series now feel like long movies (with finite stories) rather than multi-season shows following characters within a certain setting with ever-evolving stories.
