I think the Sopranos has significantly better characters and writing, on the whole it's much more rewatchable than BB. BB is better at suspense and thrills, there's great writing to back that up but ultimately I don't think it has quite as much depth.

I found Sopranos more entertaining and less what the fuck than Breaking Bad. Both great but I prefer Sopranos.

I feel BB is the Sopranos of its time. Back when Sopranos was airing, it was THE show to see. Ground breaking, innovative, and true(r) to life than pretty much anything else on at the time.

Breaking Bad took up the baton after Sopranos ended and ran with it to new places. I think Breaking Bad could not have been as good as it was without The Sopranos running that first mile.

Also I think the ending of The Sopranos was excellent. To me it is obvious that >!Tony was killed. The entire scene was minutiae about each of the family members leading up to the last second. Meadow trying to parallel park...who cares? Well it is the last moment of Tony's life and therefore the last moment of the family's life as a unit. So that is why it was significant.!< I loved how it ended.

Sopranos easily. One it is funnier. The main reason it has likeable characters. All of Walts family and friends are obnoxious pieces of shit.

On the upside, I really liked Breaking Bad, and have been meaning to watch *The Sopranos". This gives me the motivation to start.

Sopranos is on a different level.

BB is much more plot and cliffhanger based, which doesn't hold up to multiple viewings near as well, but very exciting the first time you see it.

The Sopranos edges BB by a micron, it's really worth watching both though. Very different styles in terms of writing make for two great, unique experiences

BB is a little too over the top from certain instances like the bathtub falling through the floor, explosive 'meth' & the trunk machine gun finish.... however, I'd say the story overall is better than the Sopranos.
