For me, I gotta throw my top hat and cigarette in for the finale of Mad Men (2007-2015).
I feel it captures the perfect mix of grief and hardship so prevalent throughout the series with happiness, or satisfaction. something not so prevalent. The entire main cast gets a completed story arc that fits with their character yet is surprising enough.
And lastly, they nail Dons finale by unexpectedly bringing it back to the driving action of the show (Ads), while simultaneously providing emotional, and depressing, character work on Don that ultimately ends in him doing what we loved best about him, creating advertisements.
Would love to hear all your thoughts on tvs greatest endings!
