Coincidentally speaking...Dalhousie Street in Ottawa was formally opened 1840 which later turned into Ottawa's red light district-esque street.

I blame the money. People are so stressed about loans and getting a career that pays fairly, so they have a hard time dedicating themselves through passion in the field.
