Yes, Irish immigrants even helped with Chile’s fight for independence. One of the coolest things I saw when I visited Santiago de Chile was the numerous parks and streets named for Irish people.

The one that still sticks out to me is called ‘O’Higgins Park’ (Parque o’Higgins)
