It's really about the place you visit, it's not just all "Vermont" there are nooks and crannies specific to each locale. It takes years to get into a place, I know you're just looking to check it out, I think you should generally see how you vibe with the place, do some local stuff, drive to a few other things that interest you, the drives are always beautiful in and of themselves.
