Turkeys were nearly extinct in Vermont during the 1800's. They were re-introduced in 1969.

Why honey bees? These bees are not native to North America and are actually detrimental to our local ecosystem because they crowd out native bee/pollinator populations.

Same with Hawks and other large birds of prey that are prevalent now. DDT wreaked havoc on these birds for a generation and they are only now coming back en masse.
