It’s a tie between the stoat (haven’t seen one yet but my neighbor has them on her property) and the snowshoe hare (seen one, just once, in winter).

Got to observe a stoat up close from a basement window a few years ago in Pittsfield. So cool! Never saw one or heard of them before. Don’t expect to ever see one again…

Once I was going for a walk along a road in Richmond and saw a stoat poke it’s little head up in the hollowed knot of a tree. It was such a perfectly posed scene, like a little animatronic. Could hardly believe my eyes!
