Like off-road trails? I really wouldn't unless you can foot the bill for your impending tow-out via excavator. Avoid winter and spring, save for summer and fall, unless you have a very special vehicle.

The majority of class 4 roads are snowmobile trails in the winter. Be prepared for a massive tow bill, and a lot of pissed off locals. Also we currently have no snow anyways.

I’d say you’re lucky to not yet understand why that’s a bad idea. Conditions change around every corner. The hills are steep and class 3 roads are barely usable when the storm has just hit. Even with studded snows, and chains, you’re bound to find yourself in a situation that will have you wishing you stuck to the paved roadways, or home. It seems that with elevated temps this year, paved roads will remain greasy the way we typically see them early and late season. That’s some white knuckle driving alone. Bundle up and take to your feet, or a true snow vehicle.

It’s not very long but I do enjoy taking Rockingham Hill Road into Saxtons River. Fair warning it gets good ol VT rough when the mud starts

Also just bc everyone’s on here nagging; be a good soul and be mindful. You’re not likely to find a proper off reading trail that doesn’t go through private property. Do yourself a favor and take a dirt back road (like the one I recommended), be cautious, and count your blessings bc yea if you’re off the road, it’ll be a bit before someone finds you, you’re not likely to have cell service, and the tow bill will be very very sucky and yes you may die but that’s unlikely unless you’re being very silly behind the wheel (in which case maybe you had it coming?)

On the opposite side of the spectrum, I love the people that think they own Class IV roads.

Same lol. Then once I finally did stop I called my dad who said I likely boiled my brake fluid. Told me I just had to wait for it to cool off.

So of course that meant throw snow/water at the rotors since that will totally cool the brake fluid.
