I was laid off from my job at the beginning of February and went to file unemployment, there was a block on my account and it was already flagged for fraud (I have never filed unemployment ever before in DC or elsewhere). Spoke with someone in the office who said this has happened to others and to wait a week. Waited a week and tried again, once I put my info in I was locked out of my account again and haven't heard anything.
Now they are saying that it's going to take 21 business days to even see if my claim can be filed and there is a chance that I will never receive payments because I was unable to prove my unemployment (because I couldn't access my account because they said there is a block on it).
I am just looking to see if anyone had any experience with the office and if there is anything I can do on my end to get my unemployment account and claim through. Thanks so much!!!

EDIT - Thank you to the people who suggested talking to my Council member, spoke to their office, they spoke to DOES and it now seems the ball is rolling!! Thank uuu!!

I don’t know much about this specific situation but knowing DC and how incompetent most agencies are, I would say to either keep calling or take it to the media. I think that’s the only thing that gets them moving these days.
Is it possible your prior employer did some bring to block your claim? I don’t know if that’s possible but just wondering.
