This was the highest marketing spend for the cherry blossom fest also…
[removed]
I don't think the issue was on the Cherry Blossom party bus. Read this:

It's DC doing whatever it can to promote itself (and also blow some revenues). I think OP thinking of this:

It links to the dcist article where:
The only thing Bowser would confirm is that the allegations that led to Falcicchio’s departure did not have anything to do with rumored accusations of misbehavior on a four-day, five-city bus tour sponsored by the city’s government to promote tourism ahead of the National Cherry Blossom Festival. But multiple sources who contacted DCist/WAMU over the weekend said rumors of Falcicchio’s misconduct were widespread.
And I have read that other places… something had to have happened
Read that link comments,,,.... employee allegedly sexually harrassed and guess it was prior to March 11 because he stopped being seen around town and tweeting.
Is that right? Huh. Somehow we have had the fest every year w/o a bus.
I saw jokes online before his announcement asking if the bus came with a hot tub.
His alleged sex pest behavior likely predated the bus.
Reporters tweeted that he stopped being seen around town and tweeting around 3/11 and the Mayor was on calls with advisors that week, so likely before the bus.

I have no details but I thought it was very strange we had a pink bus driving around the northeast under the guise of advertising to tourists. I figured it was just an ineffective harebrained scheme doubling as a way to legally hand out kickbacks. Maybe something more nefarious happened too.
