To be fair, everyone's continued dependency on gas is incredibly shortsighted. Climate change should be well enough cause to divest. Europe's reliance on Russia just takes the grotesque to a whole other level.

They don‘t, all prices (wholesale AND consumer) have massively come down since their peak in September. Seems like the worst is over.

EU gas prices currently sit at +20% since the beginning of the year lol! And the electricity prices are set based on gas prices.

You are correct. Not sure why I thought Serbia was in the EU, probably from some half-remembered watching of their positioning/candidacy when I was in school.
