Would you say you're hard on chairs? I'm still using the office chair I bought at least 15 years ago. I use it daily, for hours at a time. It still looks newish. I took the arms off so it slides under my desk. I don't know the brand.

So you're calling me ignorant. Which violates Reddit rule #1. Name calling is not polite or civil, it's just rude. You could have disagreed with me without resorting to that.

A tip: when you're considering a set and a pattern, pay attention to the times of the forks. You will find that there are differences from pattern to pattern.

I haven't found that to be true at all. Have you ever looked at the brands they carry?

I live not far from one of the physical stores and have bought several pairs there of different well-known brands that I'm still wearing many years later. I don't buy fast fad fashion, far from it. My Clark's that I bought there will certainly be my BIFL shoes. Same for my Naturalizers. That was before Clark's sold out to China.

Sure, if a person is hard on shoes and don't take care of them they will not be BIFLs.

Is microwave safe also a requirement?

Here is something I learned after many decades: thick dinnerware (pottery, china, porcelain) takes up more room in a cabinet than the thin kind. So I bought a couple of sets of Corning Ware Corelle. It's dishwasher & microwave safe and wears like iron. I absolutely love it.

And...

What is the difference between the TC and TR Speed Queen washers?

The TC5 has a two-speed ½ hp motor, whereas the TR5 has a variable speed, 1 hp motor with a maximum spin speed of 820 RPM. This could come in handy if you're frequently doing large loads of heavily soiled items. The TC5 has two different load size selections, whereas the TR5 has three. Jun 10, 2021

CLR can remove rust from metal (and other subtrates), but if the metal has corrosion that's eating into the mteal it can't repair that.

My city has tap water that leaves a crusty residue over a time, a fairly short time. I use CLR-soaked paper towels and lay them firmly on the surface of my porcelain & stainless sinks as well as around the fixture.

I also use CLR and a pumice stone to remove the toilet bowl hard water deposit ring.

I saw an easy method online for sharpening nail clippers so I tried it and it seemed to have worked. Use a medium grit piece of sandpaper and have the clippers bite down on it 5 times in a row, in different spots. Be sure to clip all the way through the sandpaper. if you can.
